We are looking for a Research Scientist and a Research Technician to work on the development of novel Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) systems for gene therapy. If you or someone you know is interested in gene therapy, biophysics, structural biology, protein design and protein complexes, please apply!

Research Scientist:

The scientist will work on the design and development of novel Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) systems for gene therapies. The position entails, among responsibilities, expression and purification of proteins and their biophysical and functional characterization.

The candidate must have a PhD in biophysics, biochemistry, biology, structural biology, or related field. Demonstrated and extensive experience with protein expression in bacterial or mammalian cells and FPLC protein purification is required. Experience with in-vitro protein characterization and functional assays such as Fluorescence Polarization and ATPase assays is highly desired. Previous experience working with AAV is not required.

Research Technician II:

This position entails assisting with general lab support (plate pouring, stock making, autoclaving…) as well as directly contributing to scientific projects in the lab. Among others, the candidate will perform expression of AAVs in mammalian cells and FPLC purification of proteins and AAVs.

This position would be a good fit for a recent graduate with undergraduate research experience that wants to expand their scientific experience before graduate or medical school.

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry or related field, at least one year of undergraduate research experience.
